16 months and counting...

WOW - where has the time gone!

We have now relocated back to Crawley, had Christmas, become unemployed and got a job... and Evie... well she is now walking and running about.. starting to talk and be cheeky.. her understanding is brilliant - we communicate with questions and she will nod or shake her head or point when she wants things... some words are great, like daddy... and tigger haha but mummy is a little less clear!

She is growing to be a lil stunner!

another week...

it's late Friday night - and another week is thankfully over and done with... not a pleasant week but not the worst one ever!
I have been to see the Occ Health Dr and have a plan to return to work.. my plan is somewhat different.

I am going to go see a couple of houses on Monday to see if any are ok for us. Then I need to push for a job too.. then have to worry about Andy.. ok one thing at a time..

We are going to a birthday party tomorrow - Evie's best friend Kayla - they give each other the biggest cuddles when they see each other. Here's to more birthday cake yay!!!

right... off to check the dryer and prob bed - although the underblanket hasn't been on so no toasty bed to crawl into :( lol xx

scrabble

Scrabble.
Everyone's heard of Scrabble.
I spent the last few months of Evie's gestation playing online against my buddies - hooked!
It's a sociable game, addicted, challenging, and educational. It's played online, on trains, in schools and universities, at parties, in conventions and in tournaments. There are even scrabble dictionaries and various online cheats too! I play my husband on a Saturday night or over a few days online! It's starred in an episode of Friends, where the monkey swallowed tiles!
And probably in other films and tv shows too.
So I wonder - what IS so captivating about scrabble and what is a Qat anyway?

Truthful Tuesday - a little later than normal!!

Well my friend Jen (from VIP) likes to encourage those that blog to write something truthful on a Tuesday.... ok ok it's Wednesday but that can slide..

There are so many truths I could write but here is just one (since there will be Tuesdays til the end of time haha). I really really don't want to go back to work in the prison. It's too far away from wherever my baby girl is and the hours are long (without the 30 min drive each way) and some of my collegues will totally stick that knife in (someone did on my 2nd day back after maternity leave earlier this year).
So yes I am signed off sick.. Yes I cry and get very anxious just thinking about going back to work.. Yes I feel a little bad. Maybe the Dr was right and that I should try being a SAHM - although I would love to know if he is coming to pay the bills for me!! Add to that anxiety the fact that we have to hand the keys back to this house before 29 Nov and the stress really kicks in.
To sum up - as I did waffle - I am honestly a mess. and I don't want to work in the prison anymore.

It's not a major truth Jen, but there are only certain places I can admit this truth.

thanks for listening!!!

Time, money and growing children

Time flies when you're having fun.

Time waits for no man.

Time is of the essence.

Never leave that till to-morrow which you can do to-day.

These saying all remind us that no matter what we do there is the ultimate force of time that governs us all. It has been 10 days since Evie's birthday and I really wish that I could pause and rewind time so that I can go back and enjoy moments from the past 375 days, but as they say - Time marches on!

Evie had her party last week which was fabulous. We were joined by friends and family to wish Evie a lovely first year.. Yes, we (me!) thoroughly spoiled her but as I had been more than frugal on toys throughout the year I made up for it! (mainly by having Evie's picture issued in Take a Break Mag - and selling her old things on Ebay!)

But as much as I enjoyed spending the money on new toys - now we have to find the money for new clothes. As the weather is starting to turn chilly now we have had to go out and get some winter clothes and a new coat for Evie.. You don't think that when you have a baby that every few months all the clothes won't fit and you need to go out for an entire new set :( I now look forward to the day when she is old enough to buy her own - haha - now I want time to rush on - see we can never be happy with time!

I would never be without my gorgeous baby tho!

Wow!

Well yesterday was so great, sad, uplifting, and hectic all in one..
Yes it was Evie's birthday - she has been thoroughly spoiled by me and Andy - but that's cos she won't really know any different in the future - until she studies the photos!
She is now very well practised in the art of removing wrapping from presents too. I hope she remembers how at her birthday party tomorrow.

Ok - here is my admission - I am cacking it... I am so worried that I won't have this house in party mode before bed tonight... the table skirt hasn't arrived to I have to either see if the party shop has one in the morning or 'fashion' one from something else
No party games sorted - will again look in the party shop lol
At least the party bags are done :-D

T -17 hours til we party!!

Baby in destruct mode

Ok - so Evie decides that 4am would be a good time to wake today... Andy got up and bought her into our bed - but all she wanted to do was crawl over us.

So one very sodden nappy AND clothes change we came downstairs about 5am. Milk and toys until about 6am when I put her back up to sleep.

It's almost 9am and she is back up and just RIPPED 15 pages out of the Argos catalogue... never mind as it's all the real expensive jewellery that I can't afford anyway lmao!

No doubt this is just the beginning of Evie's day of destruction - now she has the cordless phone base.. how is she going to live to see her birthday!!!
